Today we are releasing the first 2.6 maintenance update, KeePassXC 2.6.1.

The update ships with a number of bug fixes and overall improvements. A large portion of the fixes concern platform-specific quirks with the new user interface and predominantly target Linux distributions without a standard KDE or Gnome desktop. Fixes include a workaround for vanishing icons experienced by users of the qt5ct platform theme and wonky UI widgets on high-DPI screens with fractional scaling.

Notable additions in this release are a new menu entry for selective Auto-Type of usernames or passwords only, as well as an API for retrieving TOTP codes via the browser extension.

KeePassXC 2.6.0 comes with a new and long-awaited feature: The Health Check report lists weak, multiply used, and expired passwords with a severity (red, orange, or yellow) and a score (the lower the score, the worse the password). This article explains how the password assessment works in detail.

Today we have released the long awaited KeePassXC 2.6.0. This release is the culmination of a year’s worth of effort from across our development team and dedicated contributors. With 2.6.0 comes a complete overhaul of the user interface with custom themes (both light and dark), icons, and exciting features. We now have comprehensive password reports, including Have I Been Pwned password checks to find breached passwords. In addition, the YubiKey and OnlyKey integration is vastly improved with support for up to four keys plugged in simultaneously. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so here are some screenshots! Today we are releasing KeePassXC 2.5.4, the fourth maintenance update for KeePassXC 2.5.

The update primarily resolves a compatibility issue with macOS 10.15.4 and 10.14.6. The most recent macOS security patches changed the way code signatures are checked resulting in a KeePassXC crash at startup. We published a quick workaround at the end of last month, for which we had to sacrifice TouchID support in order to allow you guys to continue using KeePassXC. This update ships with a full resolution of the code signing issue and brings back TouchID.

Today we are releasing KeePassXC 2.5.3, the third maintenance update for KeePassXC 2.5.

The update adds support for the new Chromium-based Edge browser to KeePassXC-Browser and comes with a critical fix for a bug that may inadvertently scramble a database’s master key after removing a YubiKey from a KDBX 3.1 database.

Today we are releasing the second maintenance update for the 2.5 baseline, KeePassXC 2.5.2.

This update comes with additional fixes to reported issues after our initial release. Thank you for your patience and detailed reports that allowed us to fix these problems. Overall this release brings significant stability and usability improvements to KeePassXC. Most notably are fixes to crashes when the database is stored in a cloud storage service and resolving site sub-domain matching for the browser extension.

Today we are releasing the first maintenance update for the 2.5 baseline, KeePassXC 2.5.1.

This update comes with fixes to reported issues after our initial release. Thank you for your patience and detailed reports that allowed us to fix these problems. Overall this release brings significant stability and usability improvements to KeePassXC. Most notably the file hash checking has been reduced to every 30 seconds to eliminate lag with large databases.

A bit more than half a year has passed since the last major release of KeePassXC, so today we are very proud to announce KeePassXC 2.5.0.

The new release comes with a large number of new features and improvements. A few key additions that are worth highlighting are the ability to create a paper backup of your database for safe storage of your credentials away from your computer, a brand-new database statistics panel, a redesigned unlock dialog, a reworked entry panel, a function to download favicons for all your entries at once, and username autocompletion based on known usernames from other entries.

We are happy to announce KeePassXC 2.4.2, the second maintenance release of the 2.4 series!

This release fixes several bugs and introduces a memory wiping feature that will reduce the risk of secrets remaining in memory after a database is locked or being swapped to disk. Combined with the existing restrictions on memory access by non-administrators, this feature increases the security of KeePassXC.
